My Dearest Mothers

My Dearest Mothers,
This morning has been full of nourishment,
and warmth.

When I saw my mother come out of her room
all dressed up and ready to go… I could feel
her immense joy and gratitude. We hugged in
appreciative bliss and spontaneous laughter.

My whole life of being supported even when I was
acting out the mindless rebellion of youth, passed
through my thoughts, like the warmth of a brilliant
sun.

Her smile, and outstretched arms never retracted, even
in what seemed the bleakest of storms. Yes, it was me
that shot the fireworks out the front door and set the
hallway on fire. lol. OK, OK, so it took me a while to
admit it. I never suffered that event, though the truth
was most certainly known. I was allowed my own time.

My repentance? A beautiful mother’s day dinner was the
request. She found the wisdom to warm my heart with
her appreciation for me for copping to the truth.

I am forgiven in the most rewarding uplifting way. I sit in
gratitude for the wisdom imparted to me, and the self
esteem that I was rewarded with for her grace.

I just read a poem that I want to share:

Everything in nature bespeaks the mother.
The sun is the mother of the earth and gives
it its nourishment of heat;

it never leaves the universe at night until it has
put the earth to sleep to the song of the sea and
the hymn of the birds and brooks.

And this earth is the mother of trees and flowers.
It produces them, nurses them, and weans them.
The trees and flowers
become kind mothers of their great fruits and seeds.

And the mother, the prototype of all existence, is the
eternal spirit, full of beauty and love.

What a beautiful expression of your experience of the gift called Mother.
